    A Fashion designer from London and a Branding designer from Amsterdam both came together to create the ultra funky line Used and Abused. The Brooklyn based line is a vintage clothing collection whose main goal is to drape you in their funky one-of–a-kind threads!

    Used and Abused originally started in May 2008 and have been growing ever since. Their clothing selection dates from the 1940’s through the 1980’s which they travel all across the country to find! If a piece needs a slight pick me up, they will reconstruct the garment to be a more modern and fresher style.

    Sweet Cheeba created a brand that represents an altered state of mind or perception in life. It has proudly marked itself as the anti fashion brand that promotes individuality and independence. Both their artwork and images are rooted in social awareness and pop culture. Kicking away stereotypes of the fashion industry such as vanity, synthetic happiness and loss of individuality, Sweet Cheeba is an authentic brand who is rearranging the fashion game!

    One of the themes behind the Brooklyn based clothing line is to eat the mushroom which is used as a disclaimer. Once you are past the point, you have agreed to expose yourself to whatever else follows.

    What was your inspiration behind starting Sweet Cheeba clothing line?

    The name Sweet Cheeba is associated with looking at things in a different perspective.
    The actual inspiration behind it is life and culture. It encompasses many things such as art, music, happenings, Icons, dreams, politics, struggles, aspirations, living. All of these things have an impact on the brands design.

    Why was it important to create a brand promoting individuality?

    I feel individuality is important to everyone. It is about the only thing that is truly yours and set you apart from someone else.

    How does fashion and art cross over?

    I think it’s more of a hand in hand situation. I don’t feel that fashion is separate from art
    but rather a medium of art.

    Sweet Cheeba knocks the stereotype s of the fashion industry of vanity, synthetic happiness, How do you set your brand apart?

    Sweet Cheeba aims to set its self apart but creating advertising and design that acts as a balance against these things. It seems that somewhere along the way, fashion has become less and less about fashion and more about aesthetic. It’s to the point where people value and identify themselves by what they are wearing. In our expressive mediums we plan to use our presence to speak out or evoke thought.

    What type of audience does Sweet Cheeba want to reach?

    There isn’t really a specific audience that Sweet Cheeba claims. It’s open to everyone.
    Ideally reaching everyone would be sweet!

    What does Sweet Cheeba have in the future?

    In the future Sweet Cheeba will be releasing more goods as well as media.
    Just be on the look out for dope looks and some visual goodies.
    Also working on releasing some adventures of Mint dude and the white rabbit. The duo that was introduced in this seasons look book and still working on a name for mint dude.
