Being a successful author of numerous books, how did you begin your writing career?
I started my writing career through my online book club AAMBC during the time of my mother’s death I used it as a time to get past this part in my life. Through that I started my company Delphine publications in 2008 and self-published my first book I wrote at 19.
Being a writer and entrepreneur comes with numerous triumphs and defeats, what was the greatest challenge you’ve overcome when establishing Delphine Publications?
The greatest challenge is to generate word of mouth. To do this I had to travel and do a lot of online promotions. Things I still do till this day.
What inspired you to create your most recent book project “He’s My Favorite Mistake”?
One day I was listening to my friend complain about her husband. Then I thought to myself and realized that a lot of women go through the same things in their relationships and wanted to express that through my writing.
What has been your favorite mistake?
My favorite mistake was my high school sweetheart. I loved young and have made many mistakes but I have no regrets
If you had to pick one message to relay to your readers after indulging in your books, what is the underlining message you would want them to walk away with?
Treat others the way you want to be treated.
Being a young but experienced writer what’s one of the most valuable lesson you’ve learned working in the field?
To not be intimidated by others that share your dream there is room for all of us to be successful.
What advice would you give to writers trying to tap into the competitive field of writing?
Research this field and know what your ultimate goal is.
Where do you see yourself within the next 5-10 years?
I see myself owning a multimillion dollar empire, also being one of the top independent publishers and creating films.
What makes you a Styleaholic???
I’m obsessed with my brand and my overall image and everything I do and everything I wear I do it with 110%.
