Styleaholic Designer Review: Wiksten

February 14th, 2011

Happy Valentine’s Day, Styleaholics! It’s time to dive in and show yourself some love today by snagging new threads from Wiksten. Wiksten is created and designed by Jenny Gordy. Jenny learned how to sew when she was young, and those lessons left Jenny with a life-long love that she now channels into her collection. From washing her fabrics before she starts to work with them to cutting patterns and kicking the cats off the sewing table, every step of Wiksten is done by Jenny.

She works primarily in natural linen and cotton, and has an eye for delicate gingham, stripes, plaids and droll floral prints that she then crafts into clean and classic silhouettes. Jenny has studied at the University of Kansas and the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. She now resides in an apartment in Williamsburg and works out of her studio in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
